Charles Clayton 93, was born on December 14, 1919 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  The son of C. Lillard Evans and Anna (Ruesch) Evans.  He passed away on November 26, 2013 in N. Ft. Myers, Florida.  He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years Dorothy (French) Evans, 2 daughters Ginger (James) Harding and Bonnie (Ronald) Holtkamp, 4 grandchildren Jennifer (Timothy) Woeste, Jason (Jamie) Harding, Renee (Bradley) Sekula and Rachel (Wesley) Ulmer, 8 great-grandchildren Trevor and Tara Woeste, Keegan and Tyler Harding, Alexa and Brielle Sekula and Julianna and Logan Ulmer.  He is preceded in death by his 2 brothers C. Lillard Evans Jr. and George Evans.  A proud United States Army veteran who served our country during World War II in Co. “C” 735 Tank Battalion and Member of Patton’s 3rd Army, he was in 5 Major Campaigns in Europe.  He was awarded the Bronze Star for heroism and in 2008 awarded Chevalier of the French Legion of Honor by the Country of France.  He retired as Foreman from Lodge & Shipley after 42 years and has resided in N. Ft. Myers the last 25 years.  He was a 61 year member of McMillan F & A Mason #141 in Cincinnati, VFW Post 7340 Chas. R. Gailey Life Member and the American Legion #485.  Also a member of VFW Post #10097 in Ft. Myers.  Mr. Evans loved to travel the country with his wife and they attended yearly army reunions until recently.  An avid baseball and football fan, he loved to read and was a camera buff.  He will always be remembered for his kind heart, wit, generosity and strength.  A celebration of his life is being planned by his family.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, the Veterans Administration and the Susan G.
