Erv was so incredibly special. He was so gifted and he shared his gifts of life and beauty so easily and with such ease and joy. As his student he showed me how to see the best in art and design. How to appreciate the interrelationship between the performing and visual arts, and how to develop the skills necessary to exceed in a chosen field. I feel so blessed to have had him in my life and to have had the chance over the years for our relationship to grow from student and teacher to friend and mentor. I will miss him, but I know that the gifts he gave me will last throughout my lifetime.

I attended the Int'l Cabaret Conference at Yale in the summer of 2009 and learned so much in the span of 10 days from Erv and the rest of the faculty. It was a pleasure to have met him and come to know what kind of man he was. He was genuine in his relationship with each student just by sitting down listening and counseling. I shall always remember his profound love for cabaret and the need to keep it alive. May Erv rest in peace. He has earned it and the world is better off for his time on Earth. Bless you.

I'm remembering my beloved art teacher (and homeroom teacher) during the early SCPA years, starting in 1973. Mr. Raible ('Erv' in my adult years), your passion and hard work helped create the environment that helped me thrive. You made things happen: bringing out the best in the students, and the many parents who volunteered to help create costumes and set designs. I can still feel the warmth of your laughter... thank you for caring about all of us.
