Groen
Mary Louise loving mother of Peyton Louise and Joshua Louis Merkle. Devoted daughter of Hypha and Harry Groen. Dear sister of Gina (Daniel) Fries, Laura (Paul) Federico and Louis (Pam) Groen. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Aunt Arlene. Mary’s life was far too short. She had a welcoming gift for sharing stories about her family and life. She loved to laugh and make others laugh with her. Her sense of humor and love of mischief made her a joy to be around. She was independent and fiercely passionate about her family. She had unending courage and displayed an inner strength throughout her long illness. She filled our hearts with love and as her journey here came to an end, her true self shone through always thanking her care givers. Her love will not be forgotten and her memory will forever live inside all who knew her. July 23, 2014. Age 44 years. Visitation will be Sunday July 27th from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at the Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Road, 451-8800. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday July 28th 10:00 A.M. at St. Dominic Church, 4551 Delhi Pike, 45238. If so desired memorials may be made to St. Dominic Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society, 4551 Delhi Pike.

We were so sad when we heard the news that Mary had passed. I met Mary at St. Lawrence a few years back and just loved her Spirit. She was just so pretty, and funny and honest and true. We talked about our kids and I know how much she just adored Joshua and Peyton. She had a Beautiful Light in her and just seemed so happy and upbeat even though she was stricken with cancer. Her attitude, and determination were profound! I am so glad that we crossed paths and were able to be friends who would share a talk, a hug and encouragement and I was blessed to have known her. May you rest in peace Mary, and we will all see you someday on the other side of the rainbow in "Heaven". Thanks for being such a nice friend. With our Love to you and especially your family at this time. God Bless, Your Friends, Amy, Dave and Connor Saalfeld.

I worked with Mary during Census 2000. So sorry you had to lose her. She was a wonderful boss & a good person.

I met Mary a few times because of Linda and Barry Mitchell. Mary was a sweet, kind, and funny person that made a great impression on me. She will be missed by all who knew her, and those of us that had the good fortune of meeting her just a few times. Many blessings to her and the family, especially her children.

Mary is one of the most beautiful people I have ever encountered. Her love of life and laughter will live on with her amazing children and family. Our earthly world got dimmer without her spirit, but I know the angel she is will shine brighter than all the others out there. I love you Mary. Prayers and love to her family.
