Penny Louise (Nee: Pollock) , 67, daughter of Newton and Sarah “Sally” Pollock, mother of Maxwell Pollock Dieck, passed away peacefully on August 24th, with Max and her sister of the heart, Constance Fischbach Healey, at her side. A lifelong resident of Delhi Township, Penny attended and taught at Oak Hills High School, affecting many lives with her love of Shakespeare and Twain. She also served multiple terms on the Oak Hills Board of Education as a member and president. Most recently she has served under Hamilton County Auditor Dusty Rhodes as a property assessor. Penny will always be remembered as a devoted mother, avid traveler, gourmet cook, and especially for her wonderful, ascerbic wit.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, September 3rd, starting at 6:00 PM at the Palm Court of the Hilton Netherland Plaza to share memories and stories. Hors d'œuvres, a cash bar, and à la carte bar menu will be available and valet parking at the Netherland Plaza garage (entry off Race St.), will be validated." Memorials may be directed to the National Parks Foundation, HTTP://WWW.NationalParks.org/support-parks or an animal rescue site of choice. We invite you to share your stories and memories of Penny with her loved ones in the guestbook.

Max, From the day your mom and I shared our first "teacher orientation" we understood the term, "kindred spirits." Like Jerry Morris most of my memories of your mom involve laughter in some form or another. Her observations of human kind, whether in Hank's Hideaway or of persons encountered in her workday, were always funny, but incisive as well. The memory that stands out most, though, is how proud she was of you. Both of you were blessed to have shared such wonderful memories of trips, meals. amd shared times. I'm sorry to have to miss the memorial service, but will certainly stay in touch.

Penny was a very special student in my ninth and twelfth-grade English classes at Oak Hills High School. In later years, she became a colleague and a dear friend. I have many, many memories of our times together, most of them involving wonderful shared laughter. Max, we never really get over these things (I lost my wife in 2014) but we do get PAST them, and that is what Penny would want you to do. I know you are very occupied just now, but do let me hear from you when time allows, and perhaps we can get together in Colorado some of these days. (morrisge2033@yahoo.com or 970-482-2394)
