Gade
Daryl T. Devoted father of Kelly (Andrew) Lanser, Katie, Kevin and Karly Gade. Cherished grandfather of Adele and Abram Lanser. Loving brother of Glenda (Moe) Carota and Kathy Lucas. Dearest friend of Kim Gade. Daryl passed away on Apr. 4, 2018 at the age of 60.
Daryl was the proudest dad and papa that you could ever imagine. His kids and his grandkids were his whole world, his very best friends. He spent his free time helping friends and family - whether it was babysitting or dropping off a morning tea ring, he was always on the go lending a hand. His smile and his laugh were infectious. Daryl made an entrance wherever he went, brightening a room and lightening the mood. He didn’t know a silent moment; he filled every second with a story or sending a text. He checked in each and every day with all of his kids to say hello, ask for a picture of the grandkids or to see if there’s anything he could help with when his shift was over.
Longtime friends of Daryl have endless stories. Some are more appropriate than others, but common themes are woven throughout - he was a protector, a worrier, a buddy, the Long Ball King of Fairmount, a bs’er, and the person you would call when you were in need.
Daryl was a devout Cincinnati sports fan, through the good and the bad... but mostly the bad. He’s notorious for his athletic abilities and his sideline coaching. He was extremely proud of his job as a bus driver, and no passenger was a stranger to him.
Daryl’s kids will fight to keep his memories alive. The way he lived his life will be an inspiration - to enjoy the good things, to make the most out of every moment, and to laugh a lot. “You got that right, daddyo. That’s how I roll!”

One of the few people who've walked this earth, that I can honestly say "You'll be missed."

I’m so saddened by this news. I hadn’t seen Darryl for so long and ran into him unexpectedly recently. He was still the friendliest, always smiling face I remembered from our years at St Jude. To his children and Kim, I am so very sorry for this horrible loss. I will pray for you all and hope that one day when you think of him and you’re reminded of how blessed you were to have him if only for a short time, it brings a smile. God rest his soul.
