Betty A. Mueller
Betty Ann Mueller, 85, passed with peace and grace on June 23. Predeceased by her beloved husband of 63 years, Hank and loving mother to Mary Beth Geroulis (Jerry, dec.), Thom, Nancy Stelzer (Joe), Julie Beyer (Jim) and Jenny Altenburg (Andy), grandchildren Sara Cormier (Spencer dec.), Katie Striebel (Jon), Kailyn, Hank, Will, Carly, Jack, Lydia, James and Sally, great-grandchildren Carmen, Ellis and Hank. She also leaves brother Paul Ostendorf (Pat), and many more family members and friends.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio to German florists George and Elizabeth Ostendorf, she was a devoted homemaker and later bookkeeper for Edmond’s Electric Co. (Hank). After retiring, Betty and Hank spent many winters at The Buccaneer in North Ft. Myers, Florida where they welcomed family and friends escaping the north. She loved flowers (but not gladiolas – “they reminded me of funerals”), was a master puzzler, bird-watching aficionado and #1 Raymond fan. She wrote the book on “…in sickness and in health” and will be remembered by her selflessness, good humor, beautiful smile and joyous laugh.
A memorial gathering will be held at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church at 9:30 am on Thursday July 5, 2018, followed by mass at 11:00. As a tribute to Betty and her love of flowers, the family encourages everyone to celebrate her life in “garden party” style... the more colors, the better. In lieu of sending flowers, please consider planting one in honor of Betty or make a donation to the charity of your choice in her name.
