Owen K. Downey
It is with profound sadness that the family of Owen K. Downey announces his passing on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the age of 90. Owen is remembered for his years of service, first serving as sergeant in the Army during the Korean War, and then as an ATO Aerial Truck Driver with the Cincinnati Fire Department for 31 years. Married to the late Shirley Downey for 45 years, and is survived by his three children, Susan Downey, Michael Downey, and Deborah McClanahan, (Dan). He was the loving grandfather to Lauren, Tyler, ALex, Kelsey and Katie, as well as Great Grand Father to Landon. Owen was also the proud younger brother of the late Russell, a Colonel in the Air Force and the late Lowell Downey. Funeral service for Owen will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018, at Radel Funeral, 650 Neeb Road, 451-8800. from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. with Christian burial will be on Monday, July 2nd, 10:30 a.m. St. Lawrence Church, 3680 Warsaw Avenue, 45205. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ryan Custer Fund at any Fifth Third Bank.
