Vickie Sue (nee Burkhart), 66 of Covedale, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday July 29, 2018 at 9:05 pm at Hospice of Cincinnati in Blue Ash. She was born on August 13, 1951 in Cincinnati, OH to the late Harold and Betty (nee Colvard) Burkhart. She was a graduate of Deer Park High School (class of 1969), attended beauty school after, and married Douglas Nash on August 26, 1978.
Vickie was a hard worker and dedicated employee. Her most recent position was working at Mount Saint Joseph in the mail room. After she retired, she watched her grandson, Isaac, twice a week. They shared many special moments together. Some of their favorite times were blowing bubbles in the house, cooking together, and singing songs. He was her pride and joy! She was also looking forward to meeting her granddaughter, Nora, expected in November. She was so pleased to welcome her soon to be son-in-law Mark into her family and happy to see her daughter get engaged and start planning for their wedding.
Vickie was both crafty and resourceful. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch and having fires in the backyard. One of her favorite activities was walking at Delhi Park with her husband and feeding the ducks and geese there. She went to Gatlinburg yearly and referred to it as "my mountains". She read her Bible every day and especially enjoyed watching Hallmark Christmas movies with her daughter. Her favorite roles were being a stay-at-home mom when her children were young and being a grandma. She loved to cook for her family and has many signature dishes that she shared.
Vickie was the beloved wife of Douglas Nash, the devoted mother of Jacob (Sara) Nash and Stephanie (Mark McNeill) Nash, and the cherished grandma of Isaac Nash. She is also survived by her sisters Laura (Joe) Yarbrough and Terry (Rick) Armstrong, her sister-in-law Gina Nash, and her brother-in-law Mike (Margie) Nash. She leaves behind 6 nephews, 2 nieces, and many great-nephews and great-nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, her father-in-law Reggie Nash, and her mother-in-law Dorothy Nash.
We will always remember how strong of a woman she was and some of her favorite quotes including: "I love you a bushel and a peck", "love you more", and "I'm stubborn, not stupid". She will be missed by many!
Please join us in remembering her and celebrating her life. Visitation will be Friday August 3rd from 5:00 P.M. until the time of funeral services at 7:00 P.M. at the Radel Funeral Home, 650 Neeb Road, 451-8800. If so desired, memorials may be made to Hospice of Cincinnati.

I have very fond memories from Deer Park High Schools days. Vickie was funny, cute and very kind person. She always got better grades than me but she never made you feel bad about it ! Very sorry to hear of Vickie's passing. Good memories of a really good person. Classmate "69"

I'm sorry to hear of Vicki's passing. I sent her an email a few months ago regarding the 50th reunion of DPHS 69'. I am on the committee. I remember Vicki from just after DPHS graduation I came to your house on Larchview and asked her to translate a letter in shorthand a girl I was dating gave me. She took business courses at DPHS so she knew how to translate. She cheerfully did the translation. I didn't see her much after that time.

One of the dearest people I’ve ever known. We’ve been friends since our children were at Covedale Elementary. Her children are her example of what an incredible Mom she was. Their examples of kind, loving, successful people are what she worked so hard for. God has received an Angel!

So very sorry to hear of Vicki’s passing. My Dad thought she was the best. We loved your whole family. Terry Lynn was a great friend growing up. Vick was a great babysitter and took us every where. She was never hesitant to let us hang out at her parties at the pool in backyard in high school. I loved her music choices and the change of cars was always a fun circus at your house. You had great parents. Remember Laura wedding too. Your Dad Burk taught me to swim and your Mom would take us to her job at the Amberly pharmacy. Great family memories. Vickie took us to see The Globe Trotters too. We loved your family. You have our deepest sympathy and prayers.

So sorry to hear of Vickie's passing. Still in denial, how can this be? But I know that she is in a better place and at peace. Lord, Thy will be done.
