Carolyn Elizabeth Wiefering Sullivan

Carolyn was born on November 11, 1944 to Russell W. and Josephine Boekenkamp Wiefering in Cincinnati, Ohio. She was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Olean, Indiana in the church her great grandfather and his brothers helped build and where her mother was baptized and where her parents were confirmed and married.

Carolyn went to Our Redeemer Lutheran School in Silverton, Ohio in a one room classroom. She graduated in 1957, the same year she was confirmed.

She attended Deer Park High School where she graduated in 1961. She went on to UC as a co-op student and worked in the business office of General Hospital. He graduated in 1964 with an associate degree.

She worked for Delta Airlines as a reservationist for several years and later for AAA Travel. Her favorite perk was all of the travel she was able to enjoy. She traveled to many foreign and domestic destinations. She also drove shut ins to appointments and delivered meals on wheels.

She had been an active member of Peace Lutheran Church since the late 60’s. On Sundays she picked up some of the elderly members so they wouldn’t have to miss church. She loved her Lord, her church and her church family.

She is survived by her sister Shirley Wiefering Benhase (Jerry Benhase) nephews Kerry Benhase, Keith Benhase, nieces Kimberly Farrell, Kathy Wiley, Jennifer Wiefering and Beth Wiefering, great nephews Kyle Benhase and Luke Benhase, great nieces Lauren Myrick, and Lindsey Benhase and great-great nephew Braxton Benhase.

Visitation will take place at Peace Lutheran Church, 1451 Ebenezer Rd 45233
on Thursday February 7, from 9:00am until the time of the funeral service at 10:00am
