Helen (Nee: Frank) was born in Sedamsville, Ohio in June of
1935, the daughter of George and Helen Frank. Helen
attended Western Hills High School. She worked as a
bookkeeper for Bond’s Department Store where she later met
a handsome electrician who soon became her husband, Bob
Steinmetz. The were happily married for 55 years prior to his
passing in February of 2017. Helen had two beloved
children. Robert W. Steinmetz, her son, was tragically killed
in 1995. He fathered three sons; Kevin, Tyler, and Bobby
Steinmetz. Her daughter, Barbara Walsh, lives in Cedar
Rapids, Iowa with her husband (Chris) and their children
Katie and Emma. Helen was a proud stay-at-home wife and
mother. She was especially fond of her nieces and nephews
who spent countless hours preparing festive celebrations.
Passionate about cooking and keeping her front lawn
impeccably beautiful, Helen found joy in the little moments
of life…especially if they occurred at a church bingo. She
passed away peacefully in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on March
15th, 2019. Reunited with her husband and son, Helen is at
peace. A simple celebration of life will be held at Radel
Funeral Home on Neeb Road in Delhi Hills on Saturday,
March 23rd, 2019 from 11am-1pm In lieu of flowers,
please consider a contribution to your local Special
Olympics.
