Mary Bridget, age 53, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, March 24, 2019 in St. Charles, Illinois. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio where she grew up surrounded by her four siblings and loving parents, James and Barbara (Bradley) O’Connell. She loved to be around others and was always outgoing, performing in various theatre roles and frequently trying new things. Bridget attended Mother of Mercy High School and graduated from Mother of Mercy High School as well as Marquette University in 1987 with a degree in Marketing and Finance. Her career as a personal banker brought her to Chicago where she met her husband of over 26 years, Jeffrey Summerwill. Jeff and Bridget were married on September 12, 1992 and continue their everlasting love for each other to this day. Bridget was a vice president at The Northern Trust Co. for 17 years, serving as an incredible and devoted private banker. In October of 1997, Bridget gave birth to her first son, Thomas William Summerwill. Not long after, in July of 1999, Bridget had her second child, Ryan James Summerwill. The family of four moved soon after to St. Charles, a western suburb of the city, surrounded by new friends and a loving community. Bridget left her job in 2007 to raise her boys and give back to others in the community. In 2012, She started in a new position at Coveted Financial Services where she served as Vice President of Client Development.

Bridget was an intelligent, enthusiastic, and beautiful woman who always made others feel valued and whose presence would always light up the room. She loved her sons with all her heart and was the best mother they could ever ask for. She provided a support system for so many people and touched the lives of everyone she met. Bridget and her husband were deeply in love and will be remembered as eternal soulmates. She put others before herself and always offered her home as a place of comfort for all. She will be remembered as the best mother, wife, daughter and friend anyone could ever ask for.

She is survived by her husband Jeffrey Summerwill, her sons, Thomas Summerwill and Ryan Summerwill, father James O’Connell of Cincinnati, brother Brad (Leslie) O’Connell of San Francisco, brother Brian (Sue) O’Connell of Cincinnati, sister Cecilia (Chris) Miller of San Diego, Alice O’Connell of Cincinnati, nephew Michael J O’Connell, and nieces, Kathleen Cecilia O’Connell, Sofia O’Connell, Lucy Miller and Cate Miller.

Services will be at St. Patrick Crane Road Church on Friday, March 29, 2019.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by Funeral Mass at 12:00 PM
Address: 6N491 Crane Road, St. Charles, IL 60175. The committal service will take place Monday April 1st at 11:00 AM held at St. Joseph New Grounds Cemetery 4500 Foley Rd. Cincinnati OH 45233
