Robert, an honorable United States Navel Veteran who served our country from 1945-1949, was a artillery expert aboard the USS Fred T. Berry (DD-858). He loved to talk to family and friends about his travels aboard the Fred T. Berry. Robert married the love of his life, Catherine Bell, on September 4, 1954. They shared a beautiful life together for 57 years until Catherine’s passing in August 2012. Robert retired from the City of Cincinnati Metro Division in 1994. Robert always put family first. He never turned down extra shifts at work to provide the best for his family. Robert had a love for his dogs, Milo, Maggie, Lucy and Pawley. They were his constant companions these last seven years since Catherine passed. He also enjoyed seeing his “fur friends” Sarge and Sailor who visited him often at Covenant Village. Robert made many great friendships at the day program of Bayley Place and in his last few months at Covenant Village. The family wishes to give a special thanks for the friendships of Cindy, Shirley and Jeanette who made Robert’s stay at Covenant Village feel like home. Robert enjoyed playing the lottery and always wanted to hit the big one for his family—although his family believes they hit the big one by having him in their lives. Rest In Peace Dad. ‘Watch your back’
