Rick was an extremely talented musician. He taught himself to play many different instruments: Bass , rhythym, acoustic, electric, and lead guitars, keyboards, and dabbled a little on drums ( and drum machine). He played music by ear and could pick up on even the slightest sounds. If there was ever a song from the 40's, 50's or 60's especially, Rick probably knew every verse by heart and he knew all the cords (or he could figure them out). I don't know how he did it. He started playing music in his teens and played in several bands. Fortress was the band he was in when I first met him, and they still were together. Old rock and roll (it was new when they started), ballads, etc. He was a Beatles fanatic. Elvis, John Denver , Eagles, and Perry Como's Christmas albums were also some of his favorites.
Rick's mind was so sharp. He could remember dates, times, places, what he was doing when something happened, and some of the most obscure trivia. I don't know how! He could make you laugh at his jokes, and had a strange sense of humor at times. I never knew what he would say next.
Last year Rick finally got his beautiful red Mustang! It was "the car he always wanted". He did love that car.
